Run GParted from a USB Flash Drive using Windows and our Universal USB Installer to complete the task. GParted is a popular graphical partition editor headed by Curtis Gedak. This powerful tool that can be used to create, reorganize, and or delete disk partitions. Other Key features include the ability to create multiple partitions, enable or disable the boot flag,  Resize a partition, format, and much more. GParted supports ext2/ext3/ext4, FAT16/FAT32, hfs/hfs+, linux-swap, NTFS, reiserfs/4, ufs, xfs file systems. And can also detect RAID devices.

The following process shows one way to put GParted on USB. Upon completion, you should have your very own GParted USB Drive, that you can bring with you, and run from any computer that can boot from USB.

Minimum Flash Drive Capacity: 128MB

System Rescue CD USB Flash Drive creation prerequisites:

  • Windows XP/VIsta/7 PC
  • 128MB or Larger Flash Drive (Fat32 formatted)
  • gparted-live*.iso
  • Universal USB Installer

How to Create a System Rescue USB from the ISO:

  1. Download and run our Universal USB Installer, select GParted and follow the onscreen instructions
  2. Reboot your PC and set your system BIOS or Boot Menu to boot from the USB device, save your changes and reboot booting from the memory stick

Upon reboot, you should be running GParted from your USB flash memory stick.
